Ministry leaders from across the southeastern educational field and beyond gathered at Trevecca Nazarene University this summer for PALCON, an annual event for pastors and leaders of the Church of the Nazarene. PALCON, which stands for “Pastors and Leaders of the Church of the Nazarene,” is a time of worship, encouragement, fellowship, prayer, and equipping.

More than 375 leaders attended the three-day event, which featured five plenary sessions. Trevecca President Dan Boone, along with Michaele LaVigne, Althea Taylor, Albert Hung, and Eugenio Duarte, spoke on the theme of “A Deeper Well.” The sessions focused on spiritual growth, leadership, and ministry practices.

PALCON also included more than 60 workshops covering a range of topics, such as spiritual formation, ministry across cultures, crucial conversations, planting new churches, outreach and evangelism, pastoral wellness, worship, and preaching. These sessions provided opportunities for leaders to deepen their understanding and skills in various aspects of ministry.

In addition to the main plenary sessions and workshops, multiple smaller gatherings took place. These included times of fellowship for women clergy, Nazarene Theological Seminary alumni, and young clergy. Such gatherings fostered connection and support among different groups within the Church of the Nazarene.

Attendees also had the opportunity to tour Trevecca’s Urban Farm as part of Nazarenes for Creation Care. This initiative highlights the Church of the Nazarene’s commitment to environmental stewardship and community service, reflecting its broader mission of care for creation and neighbors.

The event emphasized the importance of community, spiritual growth, and equipping leaders to serve effectively. Through worship, fellowship, and learning, PALCON provided a platform for renewal and encouragement among Church of the Nazarene leaders.
