Pagosa Unitarian Universalist Fellowship to Host Going Deeper Sharing Circle on Sunday
The Pagosa Unitarian Universalist Fellowship (PUUF) will host a Going Deeper Sharing Circle on Sunday, Oct. 11, as part of its monthly theme of living the questions. The gathering will begin with the hymn “We Laugh, We Cry,” written by Shelley Denham and included in the “Singing the Living Tradition Hymnal.” This event is designed to encourage reflection and sharing through deep listening, fostering a safe and open environment for spiritual growth.
The Sharing Circle takes place on the second Sunday of each month from 10:30 a.m. to noon. It is modeled after group spiritual direction practices found across various faith traditions throughout history. Participants are invited to explore personal and communal questions that shape their lives, with the aim of deepening their understanding and connection.
During the circle, attendees will consider questions such as: What are the big questions currently shaping your life? How do you recognize when a question offers an opportunity for deeper learning and connection? Additionally, the group will examine what others have taught them about living with mystery and openness, and what helps them remain curious about new experiences.
The PUUF emphasizes its commitment to diversity and provides a spiritual home for individuals with open minds, loving hearts, and a desire to serve others. The fellowship offers a range of ongoing programs and events at the UU Community Hub, including the Tara Meditation Group, which meets Sundays from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., and Qigong practice on Monday afternoons at 1 p.m.
The Wise and Wakeful Circle, led by Elaine Harding and Sam Johnson, meets the second and fourth Saturdays at 10 a.m. These programs reflect the fellowship’s dedication to spiritual exploration and community engagement. The PUUF is located in Greenbriar Plaza, Unit B-15, 301 N. Pagosa Blvd., on the north side facing Pagosa Peak.
The fellowship’s mission aligns with the principles of Unitarian Universalism, which emphasize the pursuit of justice, compassion, and the inherent worth and dignity of every person. As Micah 6:8 reminds us, to do justice, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with God, the PUUF seeks to embody these values through its programs and community interactions.
