President Joe Biden made an appearance at the Mt. Airy Church of God in Christ on a Sunday morning, speaking to the congregation at one of Philadelphia’s largest predominantly Black churches. The source describes the area as one that traditionally sees high Black voter turnout.
Photographs accompanying the report show Biden attending the service, where Bishop J. Louis Felton was preaching. Bishop Ernest C. Morris Sr. was also pictured with the president during the service.
Sen. Bob Casey and Mayor Cherelle Parker were present for Biden’s remarks, and the photographs show Biden speaking with both of them.
The church hosted the president as part of its Sunday morning worship, a welcome that reflects the congregation’s hospitality toward guests (Hebrews 13:16). The source does not report what Biden said during his remarks.
