Prophet Micah Turnbo Steps Away From Public Ministry, Deletes Accounts After Vineyard USA Involvement
Micah Turnbo, a prophet and seer within the Vineyard movement, has stepped away from public ministry and deleted his social media accounts. He acknowledged that some of his writings and interview comments contain statements that do not align with Scripture. Turnbo serves as the Pastor of Prophetic Ministry at Vineyard Church Northwest in Cincinnati, Ohio, and is the founder of Behold Wonder.
Turnbo’s ministry has drawn scrutiny for his unconventional claims, including that he frequently visits heaven and receives fantastical revelations. He has described interactions with God the Father, such as sitting on His lap and playing with His beard, and has claimed that God enjoys spicy food while Jesus prefers sweet treats. He also reported receiving revelation from an angel while using the restroom and has stated that Judas is in heaven. Turnbo has further claimed that Jesus is a Marvel hero, favoring Spider-Man, and that he enjoys watching Avengers movies. He has also mentioned that Jesus entered his video game and became a character, with angels providing game tips.
In addition to these claims, Turnbo has been accused of writing homoerotic fanfiction about himself and Jesus, presenting it as prophetic insight. His responses to criticism have been hostile and defiant, with Turnbo mocking those who challenge his prophetic visions and theological views.
Initially, Turnbo’s senior pastor, Luke Haselmayer, defended and endorsed him. However, as more of Turnbo’s statements surfaced, Haselmayer removed the original defense. This led to Turnbo’s social media accounts going dark. The Vineyard movement’s leadership expressed concern, and Vineyard Northwest, along with Vineyard USA, decided that Turnbo would take an extended leave from public ministry to rest, reflect, and seek guidance.
