Sean Feucht Allegedly Solicited $250K for Fully-Funded Tour Despite Full Financing
Sean Feucht, a prominent worship leader, is accused of misleading a California businessman about the purpose of a significant donation, according to an amended lawsuit filed in federal court. The suit alleges that Feucht misrepresented the financial needs of his 2023 “Let Us Worship – Kingdom to the Capitol Tour,” which was already fully funded through a partnership with Turning Point USA. Despite this, Feucht reportedly asked Steve Bray to contribute $250,000, without disclosing the tour’s existing financial backing.
The lawsuit claims that the financial records of Feucht-related ministries did not align with the representations made during the fundraising efforts. Donors were led to believe that their contributions would support specific ministry expenses, but the funds were managed differently than disclosed. Bray, who is a donor to The Roys Report, initially filed the lawsuit in March 2023, seeking restitution and punitive damages. However, the case was dismissed in September for lack of evidence.
Judge David O. Carter ruled that the court could consider evidence of fraud without violating the First Amendment, allowing Bray’s legal team to refile the suit with additional details. Attorney Christine Jones, who represents Bray and is also a board member of The Roys Report, submitted the amended complaint before the 21-day deadline. The 18-page document includes specific details from a March 2022 meeting between Feucht and Bray, along with witnesses who could testify to the alleged deception.
Jones stated that the amended complaint provides the necessary specificity to support Bray’s fraud claim. Feucht has not commented on the allegations, though he has previously called the lawsuit harassment, claiming it is a distraction from his ministry’s mission. Bray, who believed in Feucht’s vision for spiritual warfare through worship music, intended to partner with him to reach the 50 state capitals. He believed the donation would support staff, permits, and travel expenses for the tour.
