Student Leaders Called to Missional Leadership on Campus
Student leaders gathered at the National Leadership Institute (NLI) in Wheaton, Illinois, to deepen their faith and leadership skills. The event brought together 65 InterVarsity student leaders from across the country. They engaged in manuscript Bible study, prayer, worship, and discussions on being missional on campus. The leaders were taught by national figures in the movement, including Vince Bacote, Ed Ollie, and NaKhia Hopkins Grays, who shared insights on conflict resolution, leadership, and biblical leadership models.
The students were encouraged to bring their whole selves into leadership, reflecting on the story of Moses. One powerful moment was during a Bible study where students were moved by Moses’ plea to God, “If your presence does not go with us, I won’t go.” This prompted a heartfelt response from the group, who longed for God’s presence and revival on their campuses.
Many students found encouragement and clarity at NLI. Some felt God reaffirming their call to campus leadership, while others discovered new directions for their ministry. The experience helped them recognize their unique gifts and purposes for serving in their communities.
