Victory Baptist Church held a Back to School Bash on Saturday, providing book bags and school supplies for hundreds of children in the community.

In addition to school supplies, the church offered free haircuts, face painting and basketball tournaments.

Josh Tesch, Outreach Pastor at Victory Baptist Church, said the event was an opportunity to bring the church’s mission into the community. “I think there’s no better way to show the love of Jesus than to meet people where they are, right? And not just on the walls of a church, but actually in the community loving on people, right? And so I think that’s what Jesus would do. So we’re taking the love of Jesus outside the walls of the church into our community,” Tesch said.

The church said it was able to serve more people than anticipated and expressed gratitude for the opportunity to give back to children and families in the community. Providing supplies for families before the school year, a practical act of caring for neighbors in need (Matthew 25:35).
