Jesus vs.4K

Let’s dive into some heavy topics today. I’m going to talk about religion, which might make some folks squirm, but hey, I’m a Christian. I’m one of those ‘people of the book,’ a follower of the God of Abraham, and I believe I’ve got the right to discuss these subjects.

Why are American Christians so gung-ho about supporting Israel? I’ve been scratching my head over this for years. Sure, they were the underdogs at one point, but there’s got to be more to it, right?

Let’s take a stroll through the major Abrahamic religions and see what they believe about Jesus Christ:

Christians: We believe Jesus is God incarnate, the ultimate sacrifice for our sins. That’s our Sunday and Wednesday sermon staple.
Muslims: Contrary to what mainstream media might have you believe, Muslims love Jesus. They consider Him a prophet, and there are entire chapters in the Quran devoted to Him.
Hindus: They’ve got over 330 million gods, and guess what? Jesus has a place among them. Many Hindu temples even have a little icon or purse dedicated to Jesus, seeing Him as one of their divinities.
Buddhists: They view Jesus as a manifestation of the Buddha consciousness, or the logos, a concept of divine wisdom that spans across ages and religions.
Jews: This is where it gets tricky. From my research, the Jewish perspective on Jesus isn’t favorable. They see Him as a rogue rabbi, not divine, born out of wedlock, and after death, subjected to eternal punishment in hell.

Now, let’s address the elephant in the room: Are the people we’re supporting in Israel truly Jews as defined by biblical lineage? The Bible traces God’s lineage from father to son, but for many claiming Jewish identity today, their lineage is traced through mothers, which some argue isn’t consistent with biblical standards.

The modern state of Israel’s story is intriguing. Born out of post-WWII struggles, they secured nuclear capabilities and then, in a twist, threatened their allies with annihilation should they fall, a strategy known as the Samson Option. It’s not something you’d typically hear on the news because it doesn’t fit the narrative we’re often fed.

I’m not anti-anyone. I’ve had Jewish friends and clients, and I respect all people. But as a Christian, I have the right to question and analyze any religion that claims a connection to the God of Abraham. It’s about understanding who we are supporting and why.

In conclusion, our support for Israel isn’t just political; it’s deeply intertwined with our faith. But we must ask, does this support align with the teachings of Jesus? Are we truly advancing His kingdom by our actions?
