The Church of God of Prophecy recently held its annual bowling competition at Mario’s bowling alley, and hundreds of Prophecy bowlers, members and supporters attended. The event brought members together for food, fun and fellowship, and the competition among teams was stiff.

Angela Swann, the church’s national women’s director and coordinator of the event, said she was overjoyed and elated by the turnout and the warm camaraderie among participants. “As ambassadors of the Most High we are all winners in Christ and I believe that our Prophecy bowlers exuded a spirit of kindness and tenderness, even as they sought to give their best during the competition,” she said.

In the women’s division, the Englerston Church took the overall championship with 950 points. The Elizabeth Estates team finished second with 926 points, and the Shirley Street Church rounded out the top three with 904 points.

The men’s division was also closely contested, with a little over 20 points separating the first- and third-place finishers. The Englerston Church men’s team won the 2019 Best of the Best title with an overall score of 1,146. The Carmichael Road men’s team placed second with 1,131 points, and the Seven Hills Church finished with 1,125 points.

In the senior category, the Englerston Church and the East Street Tabernacle competed, with Englerston winning with 337 points. Overall, 15 churches competed in the women’s division and 12 churches competed in the men’s division, a shared display of fellowship across congregations (Psalm 133:1).
