Dothan, Alabama, Salvation Army Launches 2026 Angel Tree and Red Kettle Campaigns Nov. 12
Residents can help brighten Christmas for local families as The Salvation Army of Dothan launches its 2026 Angel Tree and Red Kettle campaigns on Nov. 12. The announcement invites the community to attend the kickoff and ribbon-cutting ceremony, which begins at 2 p.m. Thursday at The Salvation Army Dothan Corps, 1001 S. Bell St. The event is held in partnership with the Dothan Area Chamber of Commerce.
For residents who want to give through Angel Tree, the local program’s 2026 website lists Nov. 13 through Dec. 9 as the adoption period. Donors can select an angel and shop for toys, clothing and other requested items. Participating locations include Dove Christian Supply, Crunch Fitness, Walmart South, Walmart North, Glass Doctor of Dothan and The Salvation Army office at 1007 S. Bell St.
Gifts must be returned unwrapped, bagged and labeled with the child’s name and family code by Dec. 11. The listed return location is 1007 S. Bell St., which is a different address from the kickoff ceremony.
The Dothan program also welcomes volunteers to sort gifts and help families during distribution. Residents can ask about those opportunities by calling 334-792-1911 or by emailing the program through the contact address listed in the announcement.
Residents interested in ringing bells for the Red Kettle campaign can contact the Dothan office to ask about available locations, shifts and signup requirements. The Salvation Army’s national volunteer guidance directs prospective volunteers to their local office because schedules and requirements vary by location.
The organization says Red Kettle donations support services throughout the year, including food, shelter and other assistance in the communities where donations are collected. Those are general program descriptions, and services and needs vary locally.
Registration for Dothan families seeking Angel Tree assistance was held Oct. 12-16. The upcoming campaign focuses on giving and community support.
