Former student in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, says People of Praise leaders failed her after alleged teacher assault
In December, Katie Logan called police in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, a suburb of Minneapolis, to report what she said was a buried secret. She told officers that her high school physics teacher had sexually assaulted her two decades earlier.
Logan said she was 17 and had just graduated from a school run by People of Praise, a small Christian group. The teacher was 35 at the time and was widely admired as a teacher and girls’ basketball coach. He lived in a People of Praise home for celibate men.
Reporting the matter to police was the step Logan took to bring the allegation before public authorities (Psalm 82:3). The source does not report any charges, findings, or outcomes in the case.
