Leta I. Cutshall, 103, of Britt, passed away on January 29, 2026, at the Kanawha Community Home. Her funeral services will be held at Britt Evangelical Free Church on February 3, 2026, with Rev. Michael Foose officiating. A burial will follow the luncheon at Concord Township Cemetery in Garner.

Leta Irene Cutshall was born on November 1, 1922, in a farm north of Oskaloosa, Iowa. She grew up in Montezuma, Iowa, where she attended school until the eighth grade and graduated from Lacey High School as one of 17 in her class. After moving with her family to New Sharon, Iowa, she worked in an overall factory and later pursued bookkeeping at Pepsi Cola in Oskaloosa. In 1955, she relocated to Marion, Indiana, where she worked for World Gospel Mission as a bookkeeper until 1962.

On December 27, 1962, Leta married Forest Cutshall in Oskaloosa. The couple settled in the north Iowa area, living on farms southwest of Britt, east of Corwith, and south of Kanawha, before moving to Britt in 1975. Leta worked at Hancock County Memorial Hospital in Britt for twelve years, retiring in 1989. She enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, embroidering, and playing word seek.

A member of Britt Evangelical Free Church, Leta was actively involved in the congregation. She taught Sunday school, guided a Bible study, and participated in Vacation Bible School and AWANA programs. Her dedication to spiritual growth and community service reflected the church’s emphasis on education and outreach.

Leta is survived by her three sons, Vernon (Iris) Cutshall of Orlando, FL, Floyd (Linda) Cutshall of Corwith, and Lynn Cutshall of Des Moines; three grandchildren, Jared (Andrea) Cutshall, Sarah (Isaiah) Janssen, and Samuel (Brienne) Cutshall; and two great-grandchildren, Leah and Emily. She was preceded in death by her husband, Forest, in 2004; her parents; and a brother, LaVern (Arlene) Benson.

Leta’s life exemplifies the values of faith, service, and community, which are central to the teachings of many Christian denominations. Her legacy continues through the lives of those she touched and the ministries she supported. As Micah 6:8 reminds us, to do justice, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with God, Leta lived a life that reflected these principles.
