Jehovah’s Witnesses in Madison, Wisconsin, resume in-person meetings after two years
Jehovah’s Witnesses resumed in-person meetings on a Sunday, according to a WMTV report from Madison, Wisconsin.
For two years, congregations had met on Zoom. Their in-person worship marked the first time they had gathered together since the start of the pandemic.
Danny Everhart, a local spokesman for Jehovah’s Witnesses, said the organization formed a relationship with Zoom that allowed its 13,000 congregations in the United States to continue meeting safely and to keep their interactive meetings going. “We feel this effort was blessed,” Everhart said.
Kingdom Hall congregation members Randall and Ruth Larson said the day was special because they could see and greet their friends in person again. Randall Larson said there is something about having a program in person that seems to affect people more, calling the return “a tremendous experience.”
The Larsons said the timing was well chosen because it is a very busy time of year. The Kingdom Hall congregation is looking forward to gathering with a large crowd for events over the next couple of weeks.
