Jerusalem Tax Dispute Over Armenian Patriarchate Moves to Court
The Armenian Patriarchate of Jerusalem has faced another legal setback. Local authorities have said its municipal tax case will be resolved in court rather than by a special committee, as the authorities had promised in February.
The change in course is the latest development in a months-long dispute between the patriarchate and local authorities. Seeking a fair and peaceable resolution to a long disagreement is a way of living at peace with neighbors where possible (Romans 12:18).
The patriarchate has described the debt as “astronomical and illegal.”
