Anthony Jacob Kosmerl, affectionately known as “Booty,” passed away at his home in Muhlenberg Township on Wednesday, May 25th, at 11:10 a.m. Born on August 21, 1991, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Anthony was the son of John and Carmen (Pingitore) Kosmerl. He graduated from Muhlenberg High School in 2009 and later earned a degree in Electrical Maintenance from Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology in 2013. Anthony’s last place of employment was Deka, where he worked until 2015.
A dedicated member of Holy Spirit Lutheran Church, Anthony also volunteered at the church’s after-school program, the Dove’s Nest. His commitment to service reflects the biblical call to love one’s neighbor, as seen in Matthew 25:35, where acts of kindness and service are highlighted as expressions of faith.
Anthony’s interests included attending outdoor concerts, spending time with his family dogs, Addie and Auggie, and enjoying the company of friends and family. He was known for his easy-going and friendly nature, always being thoughtful and kind to those around him. His family cherished the joy he brought to their lives.
In his passing, Anthony was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Edward and Lois (Hoke) Kosmerl, and his maternal grandfather, Frank Pingitore. He is survived by his parents, maternal grandmother Alice (Feeney) Pingitore, sisters Angela (wife of Jeremy Denunzio) and Amanda (fiancée of Justin Sobotka), nephews Mason Denunzio and Keegan Sneeringer-Sobotka, niece Cecelia Denunzio, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Holy Spirit Lutheran Church in Anthony’s memory. A memorial service will be held at Holy Spirit Lutheran Church, located at 4th and Windsor streets, Reading, on Sunday, May 29, at 12:30 p.m. Visitation with family will begin at 11:30 a.m. in the church social room. Arrangements are entrusted to the John P. Feeney Funeral Home, located in Reading’s Centre Park Historic District. May Anthony rest in peace.
