Mount Vernon Unitarian Church Holiday Shop Returns Nov. 21 in Alexandria, Virginia
Mount Vernon Unitarian Church will hold its annual Holiday Shop on Saturday, November 21, 2026, on its eight-acre property atop Mason Hill in Alexandria, Virginia. The event, now in its 64th year, is the church’s long-running way of opening the holiday season, and it will bring together more than 50 artisans and vendors, homemade foods, collectibles and holiday gifts. Church volunteer Jan Speakman described it as “a one-stop shopping event for goodies at Thanksgiving and for special seasonal gifts.”
Inside the historic Hollin Hall Mansion, a country kitchen will offer homemade baked goods, relishes, sauces and apple cakes. Betty’s Boutique will host a treasure hunt through collectible dinnerware, crystal, silver and household items, and jewelry will also be available.
In the Meeting House, about 50 vendors will sell handcrafted gifts, artwork, and creations made from natural and recycled materials. Local artisans will be joined by vendors representing craftspeople from around the world. Shoppers may also buy lunch and snacks on the back patio, a detail that reflects the church’s welcome to visitors (Matthew 25:35).
The annual quilt raffle is one of the event’s most popular traditions. This year’s quilt, titled “Blue Ridge,” draws on the forested mountains of Virginia. Speakman called it “another stunner,” and raffle tickets cost $3.
The event runs from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., though the closing time is still to be confirmed. It takes place at the church at 1909 Windmill Lane, Alexandria, VA 22307, where parking is free on site. More information is available at www.mvuc.org.
