NAFDAC has accused Christ Mercy Land Delivery Ministries, a faith-based organization based in Delta State, of fraud over claims that its Miracle Water and Miracle Soap were registered with the agency. One report identifies the ministry as led by Senior Prophet Jeremiah Omoto, while another names its leader as Prophet Jeremiah Fufeyin.

According to the gazettengr.com report from August 2024, the ministry advertised the products with miraculous healing claims, including that they could cure barrenness and result in twin pregnancies. The ministry was the subject of multiple petitions from members of the public. NAFDAC’s Director of Post Marketing Surveillance instructed the Delta State Coordinator to investigate the ministry and verify the products.

During a visit to the ministry, the Delta State Coordinator purchased a 25cl bottle of Miracle Water for 3,000 naira. On August 14, 2024, the ministry’s Head of Service and Chief Security Officer reportedly denied that the ministry produced the Miracle Water or Soap, despite the evidence of purchase. The report states that ministry officials initially refused to cooperate and asked to speak with the CSO, a matter at the heart of honest dealing with regulators and the public (Proverbs 11:1).

On August 27, 2024, a NAFDAC team and the Federal Task Force visited the ministry. The visit was cut short because officials did not provide access to the manufacturing area.

A separate legit.ng report, which does not give a date for its findings, states that NAFDAC issued a warning to the Nigerian public after investigating the ministry. It says NAFDAC accused the ministry of misleading people by falsely advertising unregistered items as approved, and stated that none of the products sold or advertised by the ministry have received NAFDAC approval.

NAFDAC Director General Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye urged Nigerians to remain cautious and to seek only approved medications and products. The agency also encouraged the public to report any organization engaging in such deceptive practices. The ministry has not yet responded to the allegations.
