New Missionary Network Identified in Samarian Settlements
The Shema Fellowships of Yair in Samaria have sparked significant concern after it was revealed that a network of missionaries has infiltrated several localities in the area, including the Yair, Yakir, and Ali farms. These missionaries have been actively engaging with new immigrants, aiming to persuade them to adopt Messianic Jewish beliefs.
Several months ago, the organization “Hand to the Brothers” began collecting testimonies from families who had recently immigrated to Israel and were integrated into the local communities. It has since emerged that some of these families are actually Christian families who believe in Jesus as the Messiah and consider him the Son of God. These individuals have been operating under the guise of Jewish identity, claiming to be true Jews and adherents of the lineage of Joseph.
Rabbi Aharon Cohen, the rabbi of the Ya’ir Farm settlement, has issued a warning regarding this phenomenon. In a letter, he stated that the investigative materials presented to him were clear and undeniable. He emphasized that the individuals in question are Christians who believe in Jesus as the Messiah and see themselves as true Jews. The family in question arrived in the settlement about a decade ago and was initially welcomed with great love and support. However, Rabbi Cohen expressed disappointment that this kindness was exploited through deception.
The father of the family has been conducting meetings outside the settlement to convert Jews to their faith. Rabbi Cohen has ordered that the family be excluded from the synagogue and not allowed to interact with the children and youth of the community. A meeting with the family was held, and they accepted the situation without denial, agreeing to the decisions made.
The organization “Hand to the Brothers” believes this family is part of a larger network, with both the husband and other family members involved in missionary activities. A meeting of residents in the Ali settlement is planned to further discuss the issue.
