Northwest Nazarene University to Hold ‘Great Music of Our Faith’ Concert April 26
Northwest Nazarene University’s Music Department will hold a culminating concert, “Great Music of Our Faith,” on Sunday, April 26, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. in the Brandt Center on the NNU campus.
The concert is a reimagined version of an annual event formerly called “Great Hymns of Our Faith.” It brings together the full Music Department and its ensembles for an afternoon centered on sacred music. The department says the event is designed for all generations and is meant to offer both reflection and celebration.
The program will include a variety of ensemble performances and opportunities for congregational singing, inviting audience members to take part in the music. A highlight is “Te Deum” by Mark Hayes, presented through the generous support of the Wilkes-Tate Endowment. The source describes the work as anchoring the program and reflecting the depth and beauty of the sacred choral tradition.
Dr. John Dally, Department Chair, described the concert as a signature event for the department and the community. “Be it hymns, worship music, choruses or spirituals, we hope people will come celebrate the soundtrack of Our Faith,” he said. Carrying a hymn tradition into a new format while keeping its older songs in view reflects the call to pass the faith on to the next generation (Psalm 78:4).
Tickets are $10 for general admission and $8 for seniors. They may be purchased at nnu.edu/musicevents. The event is open to the public, and the university says it welcomes individuals, families, churches and community members of all backgrounds.
