Thousands of Christians from around the world traveled to Israeli settlements in the West Bank during the annual conference of the International Christian Embassy Jerusalem, according to The Jerusalem Post. The visits were part of a broader effort to protest recent legislation in several European countries that prohibits trade with settlements. Participants engaged in various activities, including purchasing locally made goods, as a means of supporting the communities in the region.

Among the attendees was Norwegian Christian leader Dag Julissen, who visited the Psagot winery in the Binyamin region. Julissen described European laws restricting trade with Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria as an expression of antisemitism. He emphasized that opposing these restrictions was a moral position, warning that such measures could be seen as an attempt to drive Jews out of the area.

The International Christian Embassy Jerusalem (ICEJ) has consistently criticized European trade bans targeting Israeli settlements, including those in the West Bank. The organization has called for Israeli authorities to take stronger action against a small number of settlers accused of harassment and violence against Palestinian neighbors. However, ICEJ has also stressed that these actions should not justify broad sanctions against all Jews living in the settlements.

ICEJ further accused European states of double standards, pointing out the lack of similar sanctions against other disputed territories such as Northern Cyprus and Western Sahara. The organization claims that the trade restrictions are politically motivated and intended to influence the political landscape in Israel. These allegations highlight the complex interplay between religious advocacy, political strategy, and international relations in the region.
