Unitarian Church in Evanston, Illinois, to Hold Annual Rummage Sale May 2-3
The Unitarian Church of Evanston (UCE) is holding its annual rummage sale at its building at 1330 Ridge Ave. The sale runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, May 2, and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 3.
According to the announcement, the sale offers housewares, treasures, clothing, boutique items, children’s clothing and toys, artwork, small and medium furniture, jewelry, durable goods and bicycles. Bakery treats from Café Rummage will also be available.
The source describes the sale as supporting the UCE mission, reducing environmental impact and building strong connections in the community. Volunteers who help run the sale give their work to the congregation’s effort, a practice of serving wholeheartedly as for the Lord (Colossians 3:23).
Volunteers and shoppers alike speak of friendships formed while working at the sale or shopping there, the announcement says.
