North East Church of God Announces New Pastor Tom Neal
Tom Neal has been appointed as the new pastor of North East Church of God, located at 302 East Thomas Avenue in North East. The church, which is described as an evangelical, trinitarian congregation with Bible-based teaching and prayer, has welcomed Neal, who has moved from Maine. This will be his 12th pastorate, and he has previously planted four new churches.
Neal, who is now retired from a Department of Defense job, expressed excitement about his new role and the potential for growth in the community. “We believe God’s going to do something great here,” he said. He noted that the area is experiencing growth with new residents, homes, and businesses.
Neal’s wife, Dawn, is involved in music ministry and also teaches. Their children, Benjamin, 16, and Caitie, 15, are also expected to be active in the church’s ministry. Benjamin is set to start a youth group, while Caitie will work with children.
The church holds Sunday morning worship services at 9:30 a.m. and a Wednesday evening Bible study at 7 p.m. The youth group will meet on Sundays at 6 p.m. Neal’s first Sunday at the church saw three individuals he had recently met at a local store attend the service.
On Nov. 3, the Neals will host GW and Carol Carroll, who will preach on the topic of “Power Life” during a week-long revival. The revival will begin on Sunday morning at 9:30 a.m. and continue every evening through Nov. 8 at 7 p.m.
Neal emphasized his calling to “train and equip leaders for the church,” reflecting the Oneness Pentecostal emphasis on leadership development and spiritual growth. The church continues to focus on community engagement and outreach, aligning with its mission to serve and uplift its congregation and surrounding area.
