Jeanette and Robert were raised in Empire, Alabama, and married at Empire Church of God in 1952. They relocated to Cleveland, Tennessee, where they lived in Ellis Hall, the married housing at Lee College. Robert completed his degree and became a minister in the Church of God. Their daughter, Carolyn, was born and learned to walk in Ellis Hall.

Following their time at Lee College, Jeanette dedicated her life to supporting her husband’s ministry. Together, they pastored several churches in Tennessee, including Blue Springs Church of God in Cleveland, Cottonport Road Church of God in Decatur, and Birchwood Church of God in Birchwood. The couple later moved to Woodbury, Tennessee, where they pastored Short Mountain Church of God. During this time, they welcomed two more daughters, Myra Lynn and Patricia Gayle.

In addition to her ministry, she was an avid gardener, an exceptional seamstress, and a devoted mother. After her daughters grew older, she joined the workforce and retired in 1998 from Hardwick Clothes.

Following her retirement, Jeanette and Robert remained faithful members of North Cleveland Church of God. She was known for her exceptional cooking and homemaking skills. Jeanette was also a member of the Common Threads Quilt Club, where her quilts received numerous awards for authenticity, creative design, and perfection.
