Northwest Nazarene University Launches Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence Program
Northwest Nazarene University (NNU) in Nampa, Idaho, has announced the launch of a Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence (MSAI) program. The university says the program is designed to give students advanced technical expertise and practical skills for a rapidly expanding industry.
According to the announcement, graduates will be prepared to lead their communities into a technology-driven future, whether they are advancing their current careers or beginning something new. The university says the program prepares students to help shape a data-driven world, as AI developments increasingly affect how organizations operate, solve problems and serve their communities.
Students will study AI component development, pattern recognition, data analysis and natural language processing. The program is intended to prepare them to innovate through software development and system integration.
Dale Hamilton, Professor of Computer Science and Department Chair, said artificial intelligence is rapidly changing the way people work, solve problems, create and build technology. He said the program gives computer science graduates and working professionals an opportunity to build on what they already know, develop practical AI skills and prepare to help shape where the technology goes next, a reminder of the value of work and calling in a professional field (Colossians 3:23).
The 30-credit program has begun a limited launch this fall. It will officially start in August 2027.
