Rev. Bobby Joe Shinault, 84, of Mt. Airy, passed away on November 5, 2022, at Northern Regional Hospital in Mt. Airy. He was born on December 10, 1937, in Wythe County to Henry and Roxie Dalton Shinault. A devoted servant of the gospel, Rev. Shinault spent many years preaching the message of Jesus Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Sue Hamm Shinault; daughter and son-in-law, Joy and Kenny Young; sons and daughter-in-law, Edward “Sparky” Shinault, Michael Shinault, and Eric and Lorie Shinault; grandchildren, Cody Bullins, Corbin and Savannah Bullins, Isaac Shinault, and Sydney Shinault; great-grandchildren, Kaylee Bullins and Karrington Bullins; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and several brothers.
A funeral service will be held on November 9, 2022, at 11:00 AM at the Church of God of Prophecy in Mt. Airy, with Rev. Tommy Bailey and Rev. Junior Ferguson officiating. Burial will take place at the Church of God of Prophecy in Fries, VA. The family will receive visitors on Tuesday night from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the church.
