Salvation Army of Northeast Florida’s Red Shield Ball Honors Top Fundraiser and Longtime Supporter
The Salvation Army of Northeast Florida held its 13th annual Red Shield Ball on Saturday, Oct. 17, at the University of North Florida’s Adam W. Herbert University Center. The event, which the organization described as celebrating local generosity, took a New Orleans theme. Dawn Alexander and Brogan Hill chaired the evening, which honored longtime supporters and introduced the Krewe of Compassion, part of the organization’s new Ambassadors of Hope program.
Will Law of Duval Ford received grand marshal honors as the Krewe’s top fundraiser. Alexander and Hill presented him with his Salvation Army shield cape. Fellow Krewe members Lindsey Craft of Intercontinental Exchange and Karlie McCutcheon of Dream Finders Homes joined Law in raising more than $30,000 ahead of the ball, which supplemented the evening’s fundraising.
The organization also presented the 2026 O’Quinn-Buresh Red Shield Ball Award to Sally Ragsdale for her longstanding support of the event and The Salvation Army. Ragsdale has served on the advisory board since 1997, has been a former board chair, and has championed the ball since its inception.
Mike Buresh hosted the celebration, which included auctions and music by Faze Band. A Fund-a-Need appeal sought support for an 80-seat outdoor dining pavilion at the Towers Center of Hope. The project would further the organization’s work with individuals and families seeking stability, a commitment to hospitality (Matthew 25:35).
