St. John’s Ministries in Green Bay, Wisconsin, Opens Emergency Homeless Shelter for Cold Season
St. John’s Ministries in Green Bay says its homeless shelter is ready for the cold season. The organization’s emergency shelter services officially opened on Sunday and will remain available through the end of April.
St. John’s reports that while the total number of individuals it is sheltering has gone down, the number of people it serves each night has risen. In other words, fewer individuals are coming through the shelter over the season, but more people are present on a given night.
The ministry says it has hired a number of seasonal staff members but still needs volunteer help. Potential volunteer roles include hospitality, preparing and serving meals, doing laundry, and sorting supplies.
