Norman, Oklahoma, encampment outreach led by State Sen. Lisa Standridge involves police, sheriff’s deputies, Veterans Affairs and Hope Center Ministries
State Sen. Lisa Standridge, R-Norman, spoke with individuals experiencing homelessness in the encampment behind Food and Shelter of Norman on Nov. 3.
Representatives from Veterans Affairs, the Norman Police Department, the Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office, Hope Center Ministries and other organizations also talked with people experiencing homelessness at the same site that day.
Standridge and the Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office, along with other organizations, returned to state-owned property near Food and Shelter in Norman on Tuesday. The encampment is located on that property.
Meeting people where they are staying, and listening to them in person, reflects care for neighbors in need (Matthew 25:35).
