Apostolic Church Nigeria prepares for 48th annual international convention themed on divine judgment and stewardship
The Apostolic Church Nigeria, Lagos Area and Western/Northern Areas (LAWNA) territory, has announced its readiness to host its 48th annual international convention on Saturday, August 3rd, 2024. The event, themed “We shall all appear before the judgement seat of Christ,” will take place at the National Temple within the Church premises.
Pastor (Dr) Gabriel Uyeh, the Vice President and LAWNA Territorial chairman, disclosed this during a World Press Conference held at the LAWNA territorial headquarters in Lagos. He emphasized that the convention aims to remind believers of the ultimate accountability before God, stating, “God is God of justice and we shall all give account of our earthly stewardship before this impartial judge.”
Uyeh highlighted the current global climate, marked by wickedness, unrighteousness, and corruption, urging the Church to fulfill its role as a beacon of light and a citadel for the world. He noted the Apostolic Church’s position as the first Pentecostal Church in Nigeria and its commitment to delivering an undiluted gospel of salvation.
The leader also addressed the state of the nation, advising government leaders to uphold holiness, righteousness, and faithfulness. He called for a return to the country’s glorious past to address pressing issues such as hunger and economic hardship. Uyeh stressed the importance of prayer for Nigeria, stating that the Church continues to raise its voice in intercession for the nation’s peace and stability.
He further urged leaders to prioritize serving their people over personal interests, emphasizing the need for exemplary leadership. The convention is seen as a moment for reflection on Nigeria’s current challenges and a call to align with divine purpose.
The event underscores the Apostolic Church’s ongoing commitment to spiritual and national renewal, reinforcing its role in advocating for justice and righteousness. As the convention approaches, it serves as a reminder of the Church’s responsibility to prepare believers for the final judgment and to guide the nation toward its divine destiny.
