Edir Macedo, the head of Brazil’s Universal Church of the Kingdom of God (UCKG), recently sold a Florida beach condo for $13 million after a price reduction of nearly $2 million, according to Redfin. The property, located in the exclusive Porsche Design Tower in Miami, was sold on September 10, 2025, with TV executive Wilon Cardoso acting on Macedo’s behalf through a Durable Real Estate Power of Attorney.

Macedo, ranked 1947th on Forbes Magazine’s Billionaires List with an estimated net worth of $1.9 billion, may own additional properties in the United States. One database lists a $10.7 million beach condo owned by Macedo’s family, though the Miami-Dade County assessor identifies the owner as a mysterious LLC with unnamed managers.

The Porsche Design Tower, known for its patented car elevator, cost $560 million to construct. In 2013, The Real Deal reported that nearly two dozen homes under contract belonged to billionaires, including Macedo, who resided on the 40th floor.

In addition to leading the UCKG and operating Record, the second most watched TV network in Brazil, Macedo also owns Banco Renner, a Brazilian bank. His influence extends beyond media and finance, with the church receiving nearly $800 million in donations annually from 4,500 temples across Brazil, according to the Associated Press.

In 2009, Macedo was arrested for allegedly embezzling church funds and engaging in international money laundering. However, the Brazilian government was unable to secure a conviction. Prosecutors alleged that Macedo and others took over $2 billion in donations from 2003 to 2008, with the scheme reportedly extending back a decade.

The Trinity Foundation’s Pastor Planes project tracks four private aircraft owned by Macedo’s church, including a Bombardier Global Express, a Falcon 2000EX, an Embraer EMB-505, and a Gulfstream G280, registered in both Brazil and the United States. These assets reflect the extensive reach and resources of the UCKG, which claims nearly 8 million followers in Brazil and a global presence.

The sale of Macedo’s Miami condo underscores the financial scale of the UCKG and its leaders, highlighting the intersection of religious influence and wealth. As the church continues to expand its global footprint, its financial activities remain a subject of scrutiny and debate.
